Arc Bio offers a complete solution for mNGS data processing, microbial profiling, QC analysis, and reporting.

The power of mNGS made easy

  • An end-to-end bioinformatics mNGS WebApp; you supply the sequencing files and let Lumens take care of the rest.
  • Standalone with no need for bioinformatics expertise.
  • Expands your lab’s range of detection capabilities
  • Built-in Controls & Calibration panels or incorporate your own.
  • Actionable microbial detection and QC metric report output for assay reporting.

Reliable Microbial Detection starts with accurate classification.

Lumens’ foundation is built on Arc Bio’s proprietary graph-based sequence aligner.

Lumens is a cloud-based mNGS bioinformatics software that fully automates the detection of microbial sequences, complete with integrated run- and sample-level controls. This turnkey solution provides both a report of observed microbial nucleic acid signal and a QC report per sample, and across a sequencing run. Its infrastructure follows best-practice security processes and provides scalable architecture to process sequencing files quickly, reduce internal storage and organization burden.

Capturing True Signal, Not Noise

Lumens reports a signal score that correlates with quantification. This signal score weights reads by biological information content, database sequence information, alignability, and uniqueness. The signal score provides an accurate quantification unit that, when calibrated, can be converted into copies or International Units allowing validation against other quantitative standard methods.

Linearity was assessed using intact viral DNA reference materials spiked into a negative plasma matrix at 0, 1000, 5000, 10,000, and 100,000 copies or IU/ml in quadruplicate, within the same sequencing run. Linearity was demonstrated on a log-log scale. Data generated internally with paired-end sequencing on the Illumina NextSeq® Platform.
